What Makes Us Special?

Helping our planet and people in need

Special ESpecial E is a unique "green" business that rescues leftovers from meetings, trade shows, conferences, banquets, parties, weddings and special events, then recycles and re-purposes these items in ways that help our planet and people in need.

The leftovers we rescue include food, food scraps, recyclables, floral arrangements, centerpieces, decorations, party favors, excess giveaways and promotional products, unused hotel room amenities, extra meeting and event supplies, and much more.
Following an event, we'll re-direct these items to homeless shelters, soup kitchens, missions, churches, food pantries, food banks, nursing homes, hospitals, recycling centers, compost facilities, and a variety of relief agencies and charitable organizations around the world.

In the past 12 months, we've rescued more than 100,000 pounds of food; 32,000 cans and bottles of soda, beer, water, liquor, wine and champagne; over 2,500 floral arrangements and centerpieces; and hundreds of tote bags, giveaways, promotional products, and excess event supplies.

The level of interest in planning events that are both environmentally-friendly and socially-responsible is growing by leaps and bounds. It is a direct result of the mounting concerns over global warming and the pressing need to do something now to prevent matters from getting worse.

Climate change is not only affecting our planet, but also the people that inhabit it. The by-product of our increased CO2 emissions is generating more severe weather conditions resulting in an increased frequency of hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, floods, droughts, forest fires, and record-breaking temperatures. As a result of these natural disasters, thousands of people have lost everything they own and are being left homeless, hungry and without access to safe supplies of drinking water.

Every year, thousands of meetings and special events take place throughout the world. Rescuing, recycling and re-purposing the excess from such programs can go a long way towards helping our planet and the people (and animals) that inhabit it. The following pages will provide you with a basic overview on the unique service we provide and the type of leftovers we rescue.
